Learning from patient safety incidents - the NHS story
In this fortnight’s issue, we take a slight detour from our planned series of articles on the topic of organisational learning & patient safety, and share a recent presentation (delivered only this morning!) on the significant changes underway within the United Kingdom (UK) National Health Service’s (NHS) journey to transform its capacity to learn from patient safety incidents.
Since the key reviews that preceded these profound changes were touched on in the last Issue of The Human Stream, it seems relevant to share this talk as well.
The presentation is delivered from the perspective of an outsider looking in, and for the benefit of those who might not be aware of these shifts and the implications on other health systems. Apologies to subscribers based in the UK who might be across all of this information already!
Slides from the session can be viewed via the link below. The session video is also available to subscribers (accessible just past the subscriber break).
